The motorist accused of killing NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother was drunk.
According to the prosecutor in New Jersey, the motorist had just over 0.8 per mille in his blood.
The 31-year-old Columbus star and his brother were killed during a bike ride in New Jersey on August 30, the evening before their sister Katie was to get married.
The 43-year-old motorist is charged on several counts, including two cases of manslaughter, reckless driving, and drunk driving.
After a digital court hearing on Friday, the judge decided that the driver should be held in custody.
The driver has admitted in police questioning that he had drunk five or six beers during the day and that he was drinking while driving.
Johnny Gaudreau, known as "Johnny Hockey", was one of the NHL's biggest stars.
