Bergström Breaks Goal Drought as Hammarby Secures Late Win

Mjällby has been going like a train in the league – but not the striker Jacob Bergström. Until the away match against Öster. Then came Bergström's first goal of the season which gave 1–0 and three new points. Hammarby also won with 1–0 after a late decision.

In a pattern attack in the 66th minute, Jacob Bergström was played forward by Nicklas Røjkjær to the right in the penalty area and shot low into the far corner behind the home goalkeeper Robin Wallinder.

It's incredible that it would take so long, but it will be even more fun now. Completely crazy, says Bergström to Max.

It was the only goal of the match and gave Mjällby the tenth win of the season in 15 matches and strengthened the lead in the top division.

The strong attacker has done well in terms of play throughout the season, but the goals have been absent.

Forward player Røjkjær is pleased that Bergström finally got to break the goal drought.

He has worked damn hard for this, that he gets to score a goal today means extra much. I'm extra happy for him.

Røjkjær has been rumored to be on his way out of Mjällby and says in the TV broadcast that it "maybe" was his last match in the club.

I will miss everyone in Mjällby, we have had it as good as possible together, he says.

Mjällby retains a one-point lead in the table ahead of Hammarby.

The Stockholm team defeated the depleted top team Värnamo with 1–0 after great difficulties.

Only in stoppage time could the substitute Elohim Kaboré head in the winning goal. By then, Hammarby had played with one man more for over 70 minutes when the guests' Rufai Mohammed had been sent off already in the 19th minute.
