The oppressive heat over, among other places, the United Kingdom is also affecting Wimbledon. One of the most sought-after souvenirs is different forms of sun hats and caps, reports the French news agency AFP. After soon having completed the first week's matches, they have sold more than 45,000 caps compared to 75,000 during the entire tournament last year.
But they are not cheap souvenirs, a cap costs around 35 pounds, approximately 450 Swedish kronor, while a hat in the Panama model can cost up to 120 pounds.
