Germany and Poland stand out when it comes to the number of Ukrainians who have been granted temporary protection status in the country after Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022.
According to new compiled statistics from Eurostat, 1.1 million Ukrainians were protected in Germany and 987,000 in Poland in November. The Czech Republic was in third place with 385,000 Ukrainians and was simultaneously the country with the most Ukrainian refugees per capita, 35.3 per 1,000 inhabitants.
Sweden is relatively far down in the statistics with 46,000 Ukrainians who had temporary protection status in November. Of the 27 EU countries, only nine have received fewer Ukrainians than Sweden. And per capita, only Hungary, Malta, Greece, Italy, and France have lower figures than Sweden.
