Both Nasdaq and S&P500 ended the week's first trading day at new record levels.
Among today's winners was processor manufacturer Intel.
The New York Stock Exchange danced around zero on Monday, but at the close, Nasdaq's composite index had risen 0.3 percent and S&P 500 had increased 0.1 percent. The industrious Dow Jones, on the other hand, fell 0.1 percent.
At the close, Intel stood at plus 6.2. Fashion chain Ralph Lauren also went up and landed at 5.0, while semiconductor giant Nvidia rose 1.9. Even technology company Corning, which, among other things, manufactures mobile accessories, had a positive end to the trading day. The share rose by as much as 12.0 percent.
It went worse for fast-food chain Chipotle, which fell 5.2 percent. Even Meta ended up on minus and had fallen to 2.0 at the close.
After the news that media company Paramount is merging with Skydance, Paramount's share fell 5.3 percent.
S&P 500 has had a good week and broke the record from Friday.
