According to the Swedish Association of Public Housing (SBC) index for the second quarter, costs decreased by 11 percent compared to the same period last year. The decline is calculated for an association with 50 apartments, a premises and a total area of approximately 4,800 square meters.

SBC simultaneously urges the country's housing associations to take the opportunity to use the cost room for maintenance work.

"We now see a situation where interest rates continue to fall and other costs level out, which provides better conditions for action. At the same time, it's easy to want to breathe a sigh of relief in the economic turnaround - but that feeling risks becoming a pitfall if the association does not act," says Jenny Söderberg, economic expert at SBC, in a press release.
