Rising hopes for a summit between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyj make European defense stocks decline sharply. German Rheinmetall is down 3.6 percent while Italian Leonardo falls 4.6 percent.

This at the same time as Swedish Saab in turn performs the worst on the Stockholm stock exchange's OMXS30 list with a decline of 3.8 percent.

After President Donald Trump met Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj and a number of European leaders, Trump has announced that he wants to arrange a meeting between Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyj. France's President Emmanuel Macron has expressed that he wants to see the next summit held on European soil.
