The man who was found after a larger search operation outside Avesta on Saturday has died, the police write on their website.
Late on Saturday, an alarm was raised that the man had been seen driving out onto the ice to go fishing, but had not returned. The police, rescue services, and the Sea Rescue Society launched a search operation and late in the evening, the man was found.
Life-saving efforts were made, but his life could not be saved. Relatives have been informed.
