Criminal gangs in Denmark have hired Swedish child soldiers – that's what I call them – to carry out criminal acts, says Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard (S) to Danish Radio (DR).

He has today discussed the issue with both the National Police Commissioner and the unit within the Danish police focused on serious crime.

In a large part of the 25 cases he mentions, the police have been able to stop the criminal acts before they were carried out, he reports.

It is deeply disturbing that it can happen at all and it is deeply disturbing that it happens in Denmark, he also says to DR.

The Danish police are asking for additional opportunities to decrypt communication via social media. The police also want to use methods such as facial recognition, he reports.
