It was no substitute appearance in France's match against the Netherlands on Friday.
But Kylian Mbappé may still play over the weekend after all.
It is the French L'Équipe that reports Mbappé will participate in a match for the French reserves against a youth team from German SC Paderborn.
This is an exercise the French national team has used at several championships - letting players who got little or no playing time at all in the last match play a match against a local youth team.
The reserve match is played in two 30-minute halves, and is held behind closed doors.
Mbappé has not made any match minutes since he broke his nose in the match against Austria. The 25-year-old has, however, participated in training with his new mask, and is expected to be able to play onwards in the tournament.
