A clearly marked humanitarian UN vehicle, which was part of a convoy fully coordinated with the IDF, was hit ten times by the IDF's gunfire, including bullets directed at the windshield, said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General.
The two passengers in the vehicle escaped unharmed.
This is the latest incident that highlights that the system for coordination does not work. We have no way of assessing how those who are shooting at us think, said Dujarric.
This is not the first incident where UN vehicles have been hit since the war between Israel and terrorist-designated Hamas began, following Hamas' attacks on Israel on October 7.
In May, a UN employee from India was killed when a UN vehicle was hit by tank fire, according to the UN.
