The District Attorney in Los Angeles, Nathan Hochman, chooses to drop the charges after several years of investigation since the allegations have become too old according to the law and the evidence is not strong enough.
"We have established that the allegations of domestic violence fall outside the statute of limitations and we cannot prove the allegations of sexual assault beyond a reasonable doubt", says Hochman and adds:
"We acknowledge and commend the courage and perseverance of the women who came forward and shared their experiences and thank them for their cooperation and patience during the investigation".
Marilyn Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has been accused of rape, domestic violence, and abuse by, among others, his ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood and ex-girlfriend Ashley Morgan Smithline.
Also, "Game of Thrones" actress Esme Bianco has reported him to the police for rape, allegations that Marilyn Manson denies.
