The proportion of households that believe house prices will rise next year has increased for the seventh month in a row, according to SEB's house price indicator. 62% now say they expect rising prices, compared to 59% in May.
"A overwhelming majority of Swedes now believe in rising housing prices. Historically, similar uptrends have averaged out after seven months. However, more rate cuts, rising purchasing power and increased activity on the housing market are all pointing to a continued upward trend," says SEB's private economist Américo Fernández in a comment.
The proportion of households that believe prices will fall is decreasing at the same time, down by 1 unit to 10%.
Households that say they plan to fix their floating mortgage rates have increased to 11%, up three units from May.
