A 36-year-old man has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison after being caught with 5.3 kilos of explosives in a taxi in Linköping.
The man was arrested in March this year after the taxi driver suspected something was wrong and alerted the police, according to Corren.
When the police searched the man, they found something resembling the food grain couscous in his bag. However, the grain turned out to be ammonium nitrate mixed with diesel oil, known as anfo, which is an explosive.
The 36-year-old was convicted in July of a serious offense against the law on flammable and explosive goods and was sentenced to four years and six months in prison. He appealed to the Göta Court of Appeal, which has now upheld the sentence.
