A larger rescue operation was launched after an alarm about a boat accident with a pleasure boat at sea about 25 kilometers west of Rörö in the Gothenburg archipelago. It was people from another boat who raised the alarm that a man was in the water.
Half an hour after the first alarm at 11.20 am, the man was winched out of the water and taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter, but his life could not be saved.
During the rescue operation, another man is said to have fallen into the water from the boat. He was taken care of on board one of the rescue units.
The two men are said to have been acquaintances, says Andreas Enbuske, press spokesperson for the Prosecution Authority to TT.
During the evening, reports emerged that a man has been detained on probable grounds for murder, which Expressen was the first to report on.
The crime scene investigation has been completed, but the police continue their work with questioning the detained and witnesses.
