A man is being prosecuted following the tomato attack in the Riksdag against Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M), writes Expressen.
The 37-year-old denies the crime, but admits to throwing a tomato.
"I threw it with my hand. It was like, how can I put it, a housewife's throw", he says in the interrogation, according to the newspaper.
It was during a Riksdag debate on October 3 that Malmer Stenergard rushed out of the Riksdag chamber after pro-Palestinian demonstrators threw tomatoes and red onions from the gallery, which was two rows behind the Foreign Minister.
A video recording from inside the chamber shows the man standing up and throwing an object with his left hand. He is then apprehended by a Riksdag guard and escorted out of the room, according to the police investigation.
A man and two women were apprehended and removed from the premises. When asked why he threw the tomato, the man says he did it to draw attention to the situation in Palestine.
