A man who was a patient at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg became aggressive and escaped from the hospital on Thursday evening. On Friday, he was arrested and later detained on suspicion of several crimes, according to the police on their website.
The man is alleged to have taken a car from a woman in a nearby car park on Thursday evening.
In connection with this, the man is said to have forced the woman into her car. Somehow, the woman managed to get out of the car, says police spokesperson August Brandt to GP.
The man then drove off with the car, before crashing into a house facade in Mölndal and leaving the scene.
The incident is being investigated as aggravated vehicle theft, unlawful deprivation of liberty, gross negligence in traffic, and unauthorised driving.
The man has denied the crimes in initial questioning, according to Robin Simonsson, a spokesperson for the Prosecution Authority.
