The police in western England have launched a large-scale hunt for a suspected murderer.
The alarm was raised on Wednesday evening, when private individuals alerted the authorities to a man behaving mysteriously on a bridge on the outskirts of Bristol, reports BBC.
When the police arrived at Clifton Suspension Bridge, the man had vanished but left behind two suitcases that were found to contain body parts.
This is a shocking case and I fully understand the concern it has caused, says Vicks Hayward-Melen, acting police chief in Bristol, at a press conference where she adds that the man is not believed to pose a threat to the general public.
Our immediate priority is to find the man who brought the suitcases to the bridge, to identify the deceased and to inform their next of kin.
The bridge, which is both a transportation route and a tourist attraction, has been closed since Wednesday evening.
