There was a surplus of 31.6 billion kronor in the state treasury in May, announces the National Debt Office. The authority's prognosis was a surplus of 41.7 billion kronor.
The surplus was lower than expected due primarily to higher expenditure and higher net lending.
"The primary balance was 6.2 billion kronor lower than the prognosis. The difference is due to the fact that payments from several authorities were higher than expected, but also that tax revenues were approximately 2.5 billion kronor lower than forecast", writes the National Debt Office in a press release.
Net lending to authorities was 3.9 billion kronor higher than the prognosis.
