South Korea has resumed its loud broadcasts via giant loudspeakers across the border to North Korea. The broadcasts are a response to the trash-filled balloons sent from North Korea.

Although the current content is unknown, it has previously consisted of a mix of pop music, propaganda, and news.

Loud broadcasts across the border are an old trick that South Korea has used in response to North Korean provocations. North Korea has also used loudspeakers to broadcast propaganda.

The South Korean military says that North Korea is responsible for the increased tensions between the countries because the country has ignored South Korea's warnings and continued its "detestable" balloon campaign.

Since May, over a thousand balloons with trash have been sent from North Korea across the border to the south.
