Lotta Lotass's Greek fate poems and Axel Winqvist's "horny flowers" have a chance to receive Swedish Radio's poetry prize in 2025. A total of five titles have been nominated for the prize.
Lotta Lotass's way of suggestively conjuring up the eternal war's commanders in "Rubicon/Issos/Troja" is described by the jury as "painfully beautiful". Axel Winqvist's "Horny flowers" is highlighted for its inventiveness and "meaning-searching melancholy".
The other nominees are Mariam Naraghi with "The gamekeepers say", Kristofer Folkhammar with "Paint" and Nils-Åke Hasselmark with "No man's beach".
The prize, one of the country's oldest poetry prizes, has been awarded since 1958. This year, the prize, which has a prize sum of 30,000 kronor, will be awarded on March 13.
