The performance is described in a press release as "a completely unique theater experience", among other things because the audience is equipped with headphones to gain access to another dimension of Orwell's story.
In Orwell's novel, written in 1948, a future society is ruled with an iron fist by The Party and its leader, Big Brother. When civil servant Winston begins to question the work of erasing and rewriting history to satisfy the regime, his life is put in danger.
Lennart Jähkel, Matilda Ragnerstam, and Pekka Strang play the leading roles in the play, dramatized by Gustav Tegby. Sara Cronberg, who is currently working on "Pinocchio" at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen, is directing. The play premieres on March 14.
