Eddie Rosenblatt, who worked with Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, and John Lennon, has died from pneumonia. This is reported by Los Angeles Times.
Rosenblatt became a partner with David Geffen in 1980 and started Geffen Records together.
During Rosenblatt's time as CEO, the record company signed, among others, Elton John and Donna Summer, and released records with bands like Hole, Weezer, Beck, and Sonic Youth in the 90s.
In 1994, Geffen Records made a profit of half a billion dollars. Rosenblatt retired in 1998 after a 40-year career. He was 89 years old.
