One of the greatest basketball players of all time, LeBron James, has had an uncertain future for a while. But now it's clear that the 39-year-old is "returning" to Los Angeles Lakers after a few weeks as a free agent.
The superstar is signing a new contract with the club, and is being richly rewarded for it. According to American ESPN, the contract is worth a staggering 101.35 million dollars, equivalent to 1.05 billion kronor.
"No one plays this game like LeBron James, and his dedication to continuing to deliver at a high level over the long term is unmatched", says the club's vice president and general manager Rob Pelinka to the club's website.
The contract is written over two years, which means that LeBron James has the chance to become even more historic. Next season is the American's 22nd in the NBA, and if he also makes a 23rd, he will have the most seasons in the league ever.
LeBron James has the most points of all time in the world's best basketball league, and has won four NBA titles.
