Djurgården writes:

"We send our thoughts to family and relatives and remember an eternal Iron Stove."

Björn is counted as one of Djurgården's all-time greatest players. He played 18 seasons with the club and achieved great successes. In total, he won nine Swedish Championship gold medals with the club – the most ever for men, together with Brynäs' Tord Lundström, according to the Swedish Ice Hockey Association. On his list of merits, he also has two World Championship gold medals with Tre Kronor.

"Together, we remember a warm, strong, and genuine Djurgården player", writes Djurgården.

Björn's jersey with the number twelve has been hanging in the ceiling of Hovet since earlier.
