The C-leader Muharrem Demirok raised the question of why 13 offshore wind turbines were stopped after the Defence Forces considered it would entail great risks for Sweden's defence capability.
He points out that the decision has been questioned by the Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) and also highlights that Saab's CEO in an interview said that there are technical solutions to handle parts of the problem.
This raises questions, says Demirok during a question period in the Riksdag.
Ulf Kristersson hits back hard and calls those who have criticized the Defence Forces' assessment "self-appointed experts". He says that what is at stake is to protect oneself against Russia and Kaliningrad.
You should change jobs, all of you. You apparently know more than all of Sweden's military experts, says the Prime Minister.
A remarkable statement, according to Demirok, who believes that Kristersson is questioning his and the authorities' respect for Sweden's defence capability.
This is foul play by the Prime Minister. It is disrespectful and reckless, says Demirok.
What the Prime Minister calls "self-appointed experts" is the Prime Minister's own expert authority – FOI. They are no amateurs.
Ulf Kristersson, on the other hand, accuses Demirok of wanting to take a chance – instead of preparing for the worst, like the Finns, and hoping for the best.
I'm not going to risk Swedish security just because you want it, says the Prime Minister.
