Per "Texas" Johansson receives the Royal Musical Academy's jazz prize for 2024.
The renowned saxophonist and clarinetist receives the prize for having "renewed Swedish jazz through his entirely personal and unique jazz musical tone language and his unique compositional work", as it is stated in the motivation, among other things.
The Royal Musical Academy's jazz prize is awarded every other year. The prize of 100,000 kronor was established in 2001. This year's prize will be awarded on November 25.
