"Läckberg: I Want to Scare the Hell Out of People"

I don't think the viewer will be happy afterwards, says Läckberg about her crime series.

A number of Nordic series are premiering on Netflix in 2025. "Love is blind: Sweden" gets a second season with a premiere on March 13. And from April 15, you can see Läckberg's series "Glaskupan".

It's a story with a lot of trauma and children who are victims. I think I'm doing it because I'm a mother myself. I'm digging into my own fears, she says at a Netflix event in Copenhagen.

"Nice to reap some fruit"

The need to handle the dark exists within us all, believes Läckberg.

In the Stone Age, people told stories about the unknown out in the forest. Today's horror demons are rapists, murderers, and gang bombings. I think it's a way for us to handle these fears, even if we're sitting at home on the couch.

Romare's personal bestseller "Half of Malmö consists of guys who dumped me", about dating in Malmö, is also being released on the international streaming giant in 2025. During a brief preview, a slightly terrified Carla Sehn, who plays Amanda in the series, is seen at an outdoor café with a friend who pushes her to flirt.

The whole book was written in a kind of "catastrophe mode". My job was going to hell, my love life was going to hell, so it's really nice to finally be able to reap some fruit, she says.

"A desperate lunatic"

Romare has already received confirmation from her readers that there is a high recognition factor. Now she hopes the series will reach a broader audience.

It's so damn fun to reach out to new cultures and see if they recognize themselves, or if they just think this Amanda is a desperate lunatic. It's not certain that everyone will recognize themselves. It's a journey I've chosen to embark on, so we'll see where it lands.
