Anna Kinberg Batra is now responding to the Parliamentary Ombudsman (JO) on the questions that have arisen in connection with her being accused of bias.

"Of course, it would have been better to abstain completely from decision-making", she writes in a statement.

In the statement, she confirms that she is a friend of planning manager Anna Borg and godmother to one of her children, and that she has known organisational developer Gunnar Ekman previously, writes Aftonbladet.

She says that she took into account the bias situation, but that she should not have made the decision to employ Borg.

"The risk of being questioned is never non-existent when there are personal relationships, but I assessed that the benefit to the authority of her experience and competence outweighed. Against that background, it would of course have been better to abstain completely from decision-making on this appointment", writes Anna Kinberg Batra.

The Parliamentary Ombudsman (JO) had requested a statement from the County Administrative Board in Stockholm and from Governor Anna Kinberg Batra (The Moderate Party) regarding three recruitments.

One of the positions was advertised solely by posting a notice in the County Administrative Board's reception, the second position was never advertised, and in the third case, a person without the right qualifications got the job.
