The music group Kent receives Expressen's culture prize Spelmannen.
"In them, Swedish melancholy glitters, black as silver. With lyrics that are rooted in the incurable loneliness of the soul, they have united generations in their own language – a language for everything that cannot be said otherwise", the jury writes in its motivation.
Kent did their last performance in 2016, but will reunite in a few weeks for six sold-out concerts in Stockholm.
The culture prize is awarded in several categories and among other winners are Christina Schollin, who receives the theatre prize En bit av Georgs hatt.
"Marchioness, countess, queen and matriarch. Finally, Bergman's prima donna returned to her artistic home, the theatre. Our eternally young grand old lady plays her roles with care, and transcends both time and space with a glance", the jury's motivation reads.
Expressen's culture prize has been awarded since 1957.
