For just over a month ago, the 25-year-old suffered a setback in her training. An overuse injury in her left foot forced her to rehabilitation training rather than ski training.
I have a hard time feeling pain and when I do, it's often too late, she said earlier.
But now comes positive news from Karlsson. She is in Bruksvallarna where the Sweden premiere takes place Friday-Sunday and has been able to train on snow again.
This is a little first test on snow here this week, I hope it goes completely well. I hope to be on the starting line this weekend, she says in a clip on Bruksvallarna's Instagram.
She has spent the last time on the Spanish island of Tenerife and made great progress in her rehabilitation.
In the beginning, it was mostly cycling and rehabilitation that was done. But now towards the end, I've been able to do everything in a slightly smaller dose. It has gone very much beyond expectations, I think, and my physio. We are satisfied, she says.
Next week, the World Cup begins with competitions in Ruka, Finland.
