Göran Skytte was one of Sweden's largest TV profiles during the 1980s and 1990s. He passed away this week at the age of 79 after a longer period of illness.
I'm taken. It feels very heavy, regrettable, and sad. I'm reading his books and chronicles to maybe get closer to him, says brother Håkan Skytte to the newspaper.
Göran Skytte was born in 1945 in Malmö. He worked as a journalist at the newspaper Arbetet and at Aftonbladet. He was also a musician and played, among other things, with childhood friend Mikael Wiehe in the Kabaré Orchestra at the end of the 1970s.
During his time at Aftonbladet, Skytte revealed then-Justice Minister Ove Rainer's tax affairs, which led to Rainer's resignation in 1983. The following year, Skytte was awarded the Grand Journalism Prize.
In 1986, Göran Skytte started the TV program Rekordmagazinet together with Jan Guillou and Annika Hagström. Later, he got his own program, "Skytte".
In the 2000s, he became deeply religious and wrote several books about his Christian faith.
