Jamie Foxx had dinner with friends at a restaurant in Los Angeles on Friday evening to celebrate his birthday.
"It was someone at another table who threw a glass that hit him over the mouth", says his press spokesperson for The Independent.
The police were alerted to the Mr Chow restaurant and report that it was a "physical altercation between two parties".
Recently, Jamie Foxx revealed that he had suffered a stroke in 2023, something he had not previously made public.
Foxx has a background as a stand-up comedian and is best known for the title role in the 2004 film "Ray", which earned him an Oscar for best male lead.
