Iran denies the allegations that Iranian agents planned to assassinate the incoming US President Donald Trump.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry writes in a statement that it "rejects all allegations regarding Iran's involvement in an assassination attempt on former or current American politicians".
According to court documents submitted to a court in Manhattan, New York on Friday, the plans were revealed in FBI interviews with an Afghan man who was deported from the US. The man told in the interviews that Iran's Revolutionary Guard contacted him in September and gave him the task of planning how an assassination of Trump could be carried out.
