A wounded woman was found outdoors in the Öster district of Gävle. The police were alerted at around 20:00 on Saturday evening and were able to establish that the woman had been injured with a sharp object. She was taken to hospital by ambulance. The woman was conscious but her condition is unclear.
The crime is believed to have taken place in a residence, but she was found outdoors in the residential area, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson for the police to Aftonbladet.
The police later arrested a man in his 30s who is now in custody, suspected of gross assault on probable cause.
There is a relationship between these two individuals, says Robin Simonsson, communicator at the Prosecution Authority in Gävle to TT.
