The devastation after Hurricane Milton was surveyed from a bird's eye view by US President Joe Biden on Sunday, who simultaneously urged the US Congress to extend the economic emergency aid to those affected.
Biden flew over, among other things, Tropicana Field, the home arena of the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team in Florida, whose roof was torn off by the hurricane.
The President announced additional support of approximately 6 billion kronor (612 million dollars), aimed at energy projects in the region to reduce vulnerability to natural disasters.
After the helicopter tour, Biden was informed by regional officials about the disaster situation. At the same time, the President was grateful that the damage was not as terrible as initially feared when Milton passed through.
