IFK Göteborg has made major changes to high-ranking positions within the club during the winter.
Both Chairman Richard Berkling and Technical Director Ola Larsson have left the club, but despite this, strong criticism remains against "blåvitt".
Now, IFK Göteborg confirms that several individuals connected to the club, including employees, elected officials, and members, have been subjected to "unlawful influence".
"Influence Campaign"
"Now – perhaps more than ever before – we must stand together for our association", the club writes and continues:
"Direct and indirect threats and harassment have been directed against individuals in their work for IFK Göteborg, to hinder them in their professional activities".
The club continues to explain that the threats have emerged in direct connection with the club's annual meeting on Thursday, and that they are working to ensure that the meeting can be held as planned.
"Individuals and groups with violent capital have conducted an influence campaign together with persons holding high status within the blue-white supporter circles."
"Our Association is Under Attack"
"Everyone should feel safe to participate and be part of IFK Göteborg, to cast their vote on what and whom they want – and not be overpowered or weakened by others. But in truth, it is not so today. And we must change this now. Together."
"What we write here should be self-evident for everyone. But our association is under attack, and we can no longer take these principles for granted", the club continues.
