The crisis-ridden HV71 has been hit by another tough blow.
Finnish World Championship defender Oliwer Kaski is forced to undergo surgery and will likely miss the rest of the season.
"We have tried to rehabilitate Oliwer's upper body injury, but it has been clear for some time that he needs to undergo surgery. With great likelihood, Oliwer's season is over", says HV71's doctor Jonas Kalman to the club's website.
Kaski, who played in the World Championship for Finland in the spring, injured himself already in the SHL premiere against Växjö and has been out since then.
HV71 managed to stay in SHL via qualifying last season and the autumn start has been just as dark. The team is in a qualifying spot, second to last, with a whole ten points up to a safe position.
