In the art project "And now you care", Marco Evaristti was to stop feeding three sick piglets to let them starve to death. The piglets were sick and would have been put down anyway. The project was a criticism of Denmark's pig production, where sows give birth to so many piglets that there is not enough milk for all.
But the piglets were stolen before the art project could be completed.
Now the artist has also received hundreds of threats, which he has reported to the police, which the Copenhagen police confirm. Among other things, he received an email with a picture of Evaristti's son and a swastika.
The sender wrote that if I choose to carry out the exhibition, I "can hope that nothing happens to my son". It was not so fun, says Marco Evaristti to TV 2 Kosmopol.
Evaristti's exhibition stirred up strong emotions, and the Animal Protection Organization Anima reported it to the police, which Denmark's largest animal protection association, Dyrenes Beskyttelse, also planned to do.
