At least 350 X-ray referrals have disappeared due to a technical fault in the digital referral chain in Region Jämtland-Härjedalen.
X-rays have not been able to call patients, since the referral never arrived, which could have posed a risk to patients, says Mattias Skielta, chief physician in Region Jämtland/Härjedalen to the newspaper Sjukhusläkaren.
The technical fault existed already when the platform was created in 2015 and subsequently led to around 350 X-ray referrals getting stuck in the system until October 2023, according to the report to the Medical Products Agency.
The region has also reported the fault to Ivo, the Health and Social Care Inspectorate, under the Lex Maria regulations.
No patient is believed to have come to harm, the investigation shows.
