On cello, a piano – and a good portion of humor. After 25 years of service to music, Lise & Gertrud are being awarded Povel Ramel's own Karamelodiktstipendium.
"From sublime sensual expressions to the extroverted, chaotic roar", reads part of the jury's motivation for the humorous music duo.
The Karamelodiktstipendium has been awarded since 1982 to a renovator of the Swedish language or for outstanding achievements in music, revue, film, and theater. The stipend, consisting of a "dignified diploma", a large bag of caramels, and a sum of money that makes the recipient "financially independent for the rest of the day" has previously gone to among others Thomas "Orup" Eriksson, Tommy Körberg, and First Aid Kit.
Liselotte Hummel and Gertrud Stenung are currently touring with the production "The Woman Next Door" which has been played in Stockholm but is now going on a national tour.
"It's not every day that a phone call from this superstar caliber reaches the ear! Povel Ramel has been a great idol and source of inspiration for both of us since early youth," they say in a press release.
