The volcano Lewotobi Laki Laki in Indonesia erupted monumental and magnificent clouds of glowing ash on Saturday, which attracted impressed onlookers. But the 8,000-meter high spectacular natural phenomenon followed a volcanic eruption on Monday that killed nine people and injured many more.

Authorities have gradually expanded the safety zone around the volcano, which is located on the island of Flores in the Indonesian region of Nusa Tenggara.

On Saturday, the area around the 1,703-meter high volcano had been expanded to eight kilometers from the crater.

The two eruptions on Monday were enormous, the first reaching a height of 4,000 meters, and the second to 10,000 meters, reports the country's volcanic authority. Thereafter, several eruptions have occurred.
