The Swedish producer prices (PPI) increased by 3.5 percent in January compared to the same month last year. In December, the annual price increase rate was 2.0 percent.
"The annual rate for PPI in January 2025 is the highest since April 2023", says price statistician Jörgen Fagerlund at SCB in a press release.
Primarily, it is within the sub-area of consumer goods for the domestic market that prices are increasing.
Price increases in the production stage affect prices in the consumer stage and thus inflation.
