It was on Saturday that Hanna Hellquist appealed to her 214,000 Instagram followers for contributions to veterinary costs for her heart-sick dog.
Quickly, the followers had scraped together over 90,000 kronor. A moved Hellquist thanked for the support, but in the comment field and editorials, the "begging" was criticized. Now she is paying back the money to all who donated.
I'm an idiot, what can I say? I didn't think. Sorry, I'll take a loan ... blanco, ten percent interest. I'll never try to take any shortcuts again, says Hellquist in the radio program Afternoon in P3.
The employer Sveriges Radio comments on the collection and the company's policy to Expressen:
"What concerns collections in general depends entirely on the purpose of the collection, the person's role within the company, and what type of questions people work with, it differs, for example, between a person who works with entertainment or a person who works with news coverage. But regardless, it should not be done in the company's name or reference to the assignment with us, and that has not been done in this case."
TT has sought Dagens Nyheter, where Hanna Hellquist is a columnist, for a comment.
