The August winner of 2023, Andrev Walden's "Jävla karlar", tops the lending list at the largest libraries in Sweden last year. This is shown by a survey conducted by "Kulturnytt" at Sveriges Radio to the libraries in Gothenburg, Malmö, Uppsala, and Stockholm. At Östermalms library in Stockholm, the novel was highly sought after.
There was an incredibly long queue when it had received the August Prize, we had around 950 people in line or something like that, and we still had many copies, says librarian Peter Buten to "Kulturnytt".
Other frequently lent books in the four cities were Annika Norlin's "Stacken" and Katarina Wennstam's "Dead women forgive not".
