He Fooled Everyone in "Traitors"

The lawyer and former politician Thomas Bodström managed to deceive everyone in "The Traitors". He didn't get a single vote against him and left with the victory. People are much better at lying than you think, he says.

The three traitors in TV4's program with the same name managed to get the whole group where they wanted. The "faithful" voted one by one against each other – even though they also managed to reveal two traitors.

Thomas Bodström was, however, the only traitor who no one voted against during the eliminations. The strategy of keeping on good terms with the other participants worked.

I was friends with everyone and had a lot of small agreements with different people. I always voted for the one who was on their way out, then you don't get anyone against you.

Operated on

In the end, Bodström stood together with forensic technician Kelda Stagg and former police officer Nadim Ghazale as winners. They also chose to share the prize money of 312,000 kronor.

We had shaken hands on standing up for each other. I think it's much more fun to win as a team.

During the final, Thomas Bodström suffered from health problems. He is seen with an eye patch during the last ceremony and now reveals that he got a retinal detachment in his left eye. He believes the reason may be the shaking from the rib boat that the participants traveled in during the last competition.

The problems started right after. But I was operated on the next day and now I'm restored.

"Wetterstrand was too dangerous"

Already in the first episode, Bodström managed to get rid of his old political colleague Maria Wetterstrand. It was a necessity for success in the game, he says.

She was too dangerous, she had revealed me, I know. But I wrote an apology via SMS and got a nice response back.

Do you think someone still has a grudge against you after the program?

Maybe Marianne (Törnblom), since I had to vote her out and Marie (Serneholt) too, even though they were traitors together with me. But it would have looked suspicious if I hadn't done it.

Can your background as a politician have been an advantage in the game?

Rather my background as a lawyer. We play theater in court all day. You have to take that with you too, that people are better at lying than you think. And that it's very hard to reveal a liar.
