A "larger area" in Breivika in Norwegian Tromsø has been evacuated since hazardous substances leaked out, writes the police on X.

We are maintaining a safety zone of 200 meters, since a leak occurred at the post terminal in Breivika, says spokesperson Robin Åsheim Lindberg to the newspaper Dagbladet.

After half an hour, the fire department is said to have sealed the leak, writes the police, who however then determined that the danger was not over and the safety zone remained in place.

No serious personal injuries are reported to have occurred.
