After two wolf attacks on sheep in Västervik municipality, protective hunting of the wolf will take place until August 31. Behind the attacks is a roaming wolf that comes from Söderåsen in Skåne, according to saliva test results.
It is not considered genetically valuable and the risk of further attacks on domestic animals is deemed high, writes the County Administrative Board in Kalmar County in a press release.
