+ How the preseason has been
Dry land training, high-altitude training, and a camp in the World Championship city of Trondheim. The Swedish national team skiers have traveled a lot since last season ended. Now the competition season begins.
+ Frida Karlsson – from question mark to exclamation mark
Frida Karlsson was a question mark ahead of the premiere for a long time. On Thursday evening, it was cleared up to an exclamation mark when she confirmed that she will start in the 15 km race on Saturday. About a month ago, she suffered a setback in her training and was forced to rest from skiing. An overuse injury in her left foot stopped the 25-year-old.
I have trouble feeling pain and when I do, it's often too late, she said.
National team coach Anders Byström has previously said that she will likely miss the World Cup premiere next weekend, but if the competitions in Bruksvallarna go well, the chance might still exist.
+ Poromaa misses the premiere
William Poromaa must abstain from the Swedish premiere as he recovers from a cold. Poromaa will be on site in Bruksvallarna – but only to train.
+ Will someone "do a Myhlback"?
The Swedish premiere is a great opportunity for talents to show off. 16-year-old Alvar Myhlback finished third in his career's first sprint in 2022. Last year, he crossed the finish line in the same position and later debuted in the World Cup during the season.
Sweden took several medals at the Junior/Under-23 World Championship earlier this year. Can any of the future names strike with a strong result in Bruksvallarna, maybe?
+ Foreign skiers
The Swedish premiere is primarily aimed at Swedish skiers. But, as usual, skiers from other nations will also participate. The entry lists include skiers from, among others, the USA, Great Britain, Spain, and China.
+ What the worst rival does
The Norwegians also have their national premiere this weekend. The Norwegian skiers are traveling to Beitostølen for competitions on Friday-Sunday. Comebacking legend Therese Johaug has announced that she will compete.
+ When the World Cup starts
Next weekend, November 29-December 1, in Ruka, Finland.
