According to the Government Offices, it was due to "a technical fault".

However, according to Expressen, which has taken part of the Defence Staff's incident report, the windshield cracked at an altitude of 13,000 meters.

The plane was carrying Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (M) and Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M).

The incident report states that "the commander decided to abort the mission, followed the emergency checklist, decreased altitude, and returned to Arlanda Airport for landing".

The meeting with the Turkish government in Ankara has not yet taken place.
